Nitmiluk National Park - New Jetty

Construction of a new tour boat landing facility on the Katherine River at Nitmiluk National Park

The project


Nitmiluk gorge is located 29 kms for Katherine and comprises of 13 separate gorges set amidst breathtaking scenery and the peacefullness of the Australian Outback. 
The project involved constructing 52 bored pier foundations while leaving the gorge floor in a clear and natural state. The steel framed Jetty was installed on these foundations and the Treadwell Handrails and Grates were fixed to the steelwork.
As part of the construction, the local Jaowyn Association were engaged to install the access pathways.  
Due to this project being constructed over a waterway in a National Park, various environment controls and managements plans were implemented to ensure a sucessful project that could be enjoyed by generations to come.
